This three-day study trip to Washington and Baltimore in spring 2020 provides an opportunity to experience how patients in the USA benefit from integrated care. The trip is organised by G+G (Gesundheit und Gesellschaft), a health and community magazine published by the German Association of Local Health Insurance Funds. Over the three days on the US East Coast, participants will learn from patient-centric care in practice and take home new insights on trends from telemedicine to AI.
How do patients benefit from electronic health records and machine learning? How does a "hospital at home" work? What examples of successful projects are there in patient-centric and integrated care? And how can data best be used for clinical decisions?
Participants will find answers to these questions and more at the various stops on this study tour*, among them Kaiser Permanente – Center for Total Health, U.S. Veterans Health Administration, Johns Hopkins Medical Center, Medicare and Medicaid, Commonwealth Fund and Watson Health (IBM).
You can apply for a grant through the CfCC programme here. Please apply to G+G directly at www.gg-digital.de/studienreise/washington.html. Spaces on the study trip are limited. However, at least eight applications must be received for the trip to take place. Participants will be confirmed on a first come, first served basis.
